Governing Board
Prof. Eric Desmond Kotei Addison is a professor of medical physics with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology since 1994.
His accomplishments and contribution in the Ghana Society of Medical Physics (GSMP) are as follows: Medical Physics Designation and Employment for Medical Physicists in Hospitals and Medical Centres, Annual General Meetings and Celebration of International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) Events, and Other Scientific Events and Projects, such as the University College London (UCL) partner project initiated and the GSMP collaboration with the Medical Physics Department of the School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences to develop a clinical guide and logbook for medical physicists with AHPC. Since the Council’s establishment by the Allied Health ACT 857, in 2013, Professor Kotei has contributed to its activities. GSMP has contributed to AHPC-organized activities.
From 2015 to 2016, Prof. Kotei was a member of the AHPC's highest governing board. Currently, he is a member of the AHPC's Professions Specific Committee. He is also the International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN) contact person at KNUST, and thus an INSEN member. He has stayed involved in the evaluation of articles for publication in a variety of journals. The City Cancer Challenge Foundation (C/Can) assists cities worldwide in their efforts to improve access to equitable, high-quality cancer care. City Cancer Challenge Foundation (C/Can) has worked with local teams to ensure cancer patients receive accurate, timely cancer diagnoses through improvements in services, infrastructure, health workforce, and health technologies, building on its existing collaboration with the city of Kumasi (Ghana) to increase access to quality cancer care.

Dr Issahaku
Shirazu holds a PhD in Medical Physics and an LLB from the University of Cape
Coast. He also holds an MPhil in Medical Physics and a BSc in Physics and
Computer Science from the University of Ghana.
Currently,
Dr Issahaku is the Registrar of the Allied Health Professions Council and a
Principal Clinical Medical Physicist with Radiological and Medical Sciences
Research Institute of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC).
He was the
President of the Ghana Federation of Allied Health Professions (GFAHPS) and the
General Secretary of Ghana Society for Medical Physics (GSMP).
Dr Issahaku
is also Ghana’s representative on the International Organization of Physicists
in Medicine (IOMP) UK, and the country coordinator for International Atomic
Energy Agency Coordinated Research Project.
Chief State Attorney, Legislative Drafting Division, Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice
Miss Agnes
Naa Kwaley Quartey-Papafio is a seasoned legal professional with over two
decades of service in legislative drafting and legal advisory within Ghana's
public sector. She currently serves as a Chief State Attorney at the
Legislative Drafting Division of the Office of the Attorney-General and
Ministry of Justice, a position she has held since 2019 after rising through
the ranks since her appointment in 2003.
In her role,
Miss Quartey-Papafio has been instrumental in shaping key national legislation.
Her expertise spans the drafting of Bills, subsidiary legislation,
constitutional and executive instruments, and the domestication of
international conventions into national laws. She also prepares Cabinet
memoranda, legal opinions, and provides advisory services to Ministries,
Departments, and Agencies. Her work significantly contributes to the enactment
and revision of Ghana’s legal framework.
Notable
among the laws she has worked on are the Pre-Tertiary Education Act, 2020 (Act
1049), Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), Public Financial
Management Regulations, 2019 (L.I.2378), Ghana National Research Fund Act, 2020
(Act 1056), and the Ghana Standards Authority Act, 2022 (Act 1078).
Her
educational journey reflects her dedication to excellence in legislative
drafting. She holds an LLM in Advanced Legislative Studies (with Merit) from
the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, and multiple
certificates in legislative drafting from reputable institutions, including the
Sir William Dale Centre, the Ghana School of Law, and the Bureau of
Parliamentary Studies in India.

Yeboah Amankwah is a successful leader who has made substantial contributions
to the advancement of her community and country. She has a wealth of knowledge
in both private and public service. Dedicated to promoting social equality,
financial independence, and education, she has continuously sought to enhance
the quality of life for her constituents and promote constructive change. She
is renowned for her strategic decision-making, collaborative style, and
visionary leadership. She is also an expert in advocacy, policy creation, and
stakeholder engagement. In an effort to create a more affluent and equitable
society for everybody, she is passionate about developing long-term solutions
to social problems and keeps pushing for ingenuity in government and policy.
Medical
Physicist, Dept of Medical Imaging, School of Allied Health Sciences, UDS
Dr. Abdul
Nashirudeen Mumuni is a Medical Physicist specialized in Diagnostic Imaging,
with focus on Neuroimaging using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). He has
extensive research experience in studies of human brain biochemical profiling
using Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, an advanced MRI technique. Dr. Mumuni
was appointed Lecturer by the University for Development Studies (UDS) in 2014.
He has since then been teaching and supervising both undergraduate and
postgraduate students as a core staff of the School of Allied Health Sciences
(SAHS) on the Tamale-Dungu Campus of UDS. He has served in various
administrative positions in UDS and is currently a Senior Lecturer and Founding
Head, Department of Medical Imaging in SAHS. He is also the founding Director
of the Diagnostic Imaging Research Centre of UDS.

Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician
Henry K. N.
Larbi is an accomplished health professional, educator, social entrepreneur,
and disability advocate with over 15 years of progressive leadership in health,
rehabilitation, and community development. He currently serves as the Principal
of Br. Tarcisius Prosthetics and Orthotics Training College in Nsawam, where he
provides strategic and academic leadership, oversees curriculum implementation,
and manages institutional partnerships under Ghana’s Ministry of Health.
Mr. Larbi is
also the Executive Director of Kabaka Foundation, a national nonprofit
organization dedicated to social interventions and community infrastructure. He
provides technical direction, fundraising leadership, and manages relationships
with stakeholders, government, and international partners.
He is a sole
proprietor of Alpha Med-Surg, a medical and orthopedic supplies business in
Koforidua, and has previously served as Business Development Advisor at Life
Equipment Ltd. and Rehabilitation & Development Officer at the Orthopedic
Training Centre in Nsawam.
His clinical
background includes experience as a Physical and Exercise Therapist at St.
Joseph’s Orthopedic Hospital. Over the years, he has combined technical,
administrative, and advocacy roles to promote inclusive health and
rehabilitation services.
Mr. Larbi
also holds several significant voluntary and international appointments. He is
currently Chef de Mission for Ghana’s Paralympic Team for Paris 2024, a
Wheelchair Tennis Committee Member of the International Tennis Federation
(ITF), and serves on the Education Committee of the African Federation of
Rehabilitation Professionals (FATO).

Consultant Medical Laboratory Scientist
Dr. Robert
K. Adedze-Kpodo is a highly respected Consultant Medical Laboratory Scientist
with over two decades of dedicated service in Ghana’s health sector. He
currently serves as Head of the Medical Laboratory at South Tongu District
Hospital in Sogakope, Ghana Health Service, where he oversees laboratory
operations, training, quality improvement, and clinical diagnostics.
Dr.
Adedze-Kpodo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health from LIUTEBM
University, Zambia (2023), and a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Sciences from the
University for Development Studies (2022). He is also a Fellow of the West
African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS) in Medical
Bacteriology and a Fellow of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory
Scientists (GAMLS). His academic journey includes an MPhil in Clinical
Microbiology from KNUST, a BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Microbiology)
from the University of Ghana, and a Certificate in Medical Laboratory
Technology from Korle-Bu.
Dr.
Adedze-Kpodo currently sits on the boards of CoMEL-GH, MELSGAS, the Society of
Medical Laboratory Managers, and the Professions Specific Committee of the
Allied Health Professions Council. He is also the Regional and National
Secretary for Medical Bacteriology Faculty of WAPCMLS.
His
contributions to healthcare delivery, research, training, and policy advocacy
have earned him national recognition and respect among peers and institutions
across Ghana and West Africa.

Programme Officer, Allied Health – Ministry of Health, Ghana
Dr. Ignatius
Abowini Awinibuno is a highly accomplished biomedical laboratory scientist and
public health professional with over two decades of experience in medical
laboratory science, clinical diagnostics, health policy, governance, and
academic leadership. He currently serves as Chief Programme Officer for Allied
Health at the Ministry of Health, Ghana, where he leads policy development and
programme implementation for the regulation, practice, and integration of
allied health professions into national health systems.
Dr.
Awinibuno holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Pathology from the
University for Development Studies (2024), and a Doctor of Medical Laboratory
Science from the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory
Science (2022), where he also earned a Fellowship Certificate. He holds an MBA
in Corporate Governance from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and
an MPhil in Chemical Pathology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology (KNUST). His foundational qualifications include a BSc in Medical
Laboratory Science from the University of Ghana and a Certificate in Medical
Laboratory Technology from the School of Medical Laboratory Technology, Accra.
